"Isn't that right Doreen?" - Stay Awake Revival is Coming

As I'm preaching up the front of the small church, I began to sense one of the old ladies was fading. You guessed it, she was beginning to fall asleep. Now, I would say, it was not because I was boring! Surely not?! She nonetheless slowly closed her eyes and caught some Z's during the message.

God is wanting to do something new within the Church, and I tell you, I don't want to be found to be sleeping.

Some of us long for a revival. The theologians expect us to rationally explain it. Some will say we actually need a reformation, not a revival. Others argue about the misuse of Scripture (e.g. that 2 Chronicles 7:14 was meant for the Israelites and God is not saying that God wants to heal our land today... or rather that we are not in need of repentance). Some say we live in revival and was simply need to become aware of it.

You can have the discussion. That's fine. The discussion is not wrong, and in some ways may be helpful.

Personally though, I simply continue to serve Jesus, believing wholeheartedly that the best days are still ahead for the church.

God has something brewing that I'm ready for, and I'm not talking about a tall, skinny latte. God is stirring something up among some, that I sense is going to move across the church. Lives will be impacted, souls will be saved, hope will abound for the broken. This will happen in an ever increasing manner. People will begin to say, 'Hey, are we in revival?!' Spiritual leadership will take on a whole other dimension, and integrity and holiness will be its foundation. God will bring forgiveness for past hurts, as we ask for it, and a fresh breathe of the wind of the Spirit will blow across the church.

So anyway, the old lady is sleeping. Well, napping. I thought I might see if she was willing to wake up, so as I'm preaching, I say, 'Isn't that right Doreen?'

She jumps up out of her skin, and we all chuckle a little bit...

When God comes a knocking, you ain't gonna find me sleeping.
